This tintype depicts four Union soldiers that have similar facial features and are undoubtly related, in uniform holding their rifles with angular bayonets affixed. Measures 3 1/4 inches wide x 4 1/4 inches tall with a decorative brass floral scroll surround and is housed in a lightly embossed gloss black enclosure with a red padded silk lining.

Very fine, there are some scattered minor scratches and small spots of discoloration. The brass surround has a couple areas of minor distortion. The silk lining is fine with a couple small stains. The black exterior is good with some edge wear and chipping on the edges. A rarity, as you never see a tintype showing four armed Civil War soldiers together! This is the finest example of its type that writer can recall ever offering at our auction!
