Rare Civil War era Bowie knife made by "GEORGE WOSTENHOLM & Son Washington Works, * XL" ( marker mark stamped in blade ). German silver guard, with bone handles. Blade has pitting with nice overall patina. Heavy tang. Blade measures 6 1/2", width 1", & 1/4" thick at center. Overall 10 1/2". Good solide Bowie, no loose parts. A collectible that has been untouched & obviously saw much use 150 years ago.
