This is a very good set of Rare Long Range or Creedmoor target rifle sight set. This set consists of the complete rear sight and target front sight. The original long range rear sight staff, measures approximately 4 7/8 inches long and is complete with a medium sized eye-cup that locks the elevation plate, when the range is set. The side of the staff is marked from 0-3 with ten graduations in-between each number markings. The staff is complete with the early style short base that measures 1 1/2 inches long. The rear sight has a fixed based and is adjustable for elevation only. The front sight consists of the wind gauge front sight with four different front sight inserts along with a spirit level that slides into the back side of the front sight. This set is also complete with an original Sharps brass front sight that slides into the dovetail on the barrel, so that you can switch from a standard blade front sight to the windage version. The complete sight set is housed in an original Sharps black leatherette sight box with purple lining inside. The outside of the lid is marked "SHARPS RIFLE CO./BRIDGEPORT CONN."

Condition: Very fine with 60% of the original fading blue finish remaining on the various parts overall. The long range staff actually shows the majority of the actual finish loss, which is to be expected as it was handled the most, when in use. The case is in very good plus condition overall with nice tight outer covering, with only minor wear on the bottom of the case from sliding around over the last 135 years. These sight sets are very rare on the loss like this and would certainly complement any Long Rage or Creedmoor style Sharps target rifle.
