Rare C.B. Holden Open Frame single shot rifle, .44 cal., 24” octagon barrel, blue finish, bronze receiver and trigger guard assembly that acts as a locking device and is lowered to open the breech, open right side of receiver where large circularfinger apertures are accessed for cocking the gun, wood stocks, #20. This gun is in overall very good to fine condition showing the majority of its muted original blue finish on the barrel, nice patina on the bronze receiver, lever and buttplate, very good action and bore, very good wood with scattered old nicks and mars from storage. A unique design and according to Flayderman’s, made circa 1862 to possibly early 1870’s with a total quantity very limited to less than 200.(Antique). Est.: $1,000-$2,000.
