Lot of 2 different. 1) First National Bank of Rhyolite. A 1907 bank check on the account of the Busch Brothers, featuring a rendition of a large bullfrog. 2) Southern Nevada Banking Co., Bullfrog. An unused c.1907 draft also featuring a green bullfrog. This piece has a ragged bottom edge and some staining, evidence of its salvage from a ruined bank building in Rhyolite a number years ago. Rare. Following a 1905 gold discovery in the Bullfrog Hills, some 70 miles south-southeast of Goldfield, the town of Bullfrog soon developed. However, it was quickly overshadowed by neighboring Rhyolite. Promotors touted the new town and an ensuing rush increased Rhyolite's population to an estimated 4,200 persons and a few banks. The financial panic of 1907, followed a few years later by the closure of the area's most prominent mine, led to the town's demise
