This rifle designed for indoor target shooting. A long hinged rod connects the hammer to the striker, which is located only 7 inches down from the muzzle (almost identical to a German Zimmer Scheutzen). A pair of empty dovetail slots are visible on the barrel, which has been fitted with a brass tube sight, peep rear and wire crosshair front, and marked "J. BANDLE/260 MAIN ST. CIN. O." on the top flat near the breech. The lock plate is unmarked, with engraved screws, double set trigger and finger and hand rest spurs on the nickel trigger guard. Mounted with a checkered straight grip walnut stock with carved Schnabel tip, asymmetrical carved wavy lines on either side of the barrel, skip-line checkered wrist with brass tack decoration, silver inlay of a squirrel on a branch on the right and an engraved patriotic American shield on the left, with a nickel finished brass buttplate.

Condition:
Fine. The barrel retains 40% of the original blue which has turned a mixed plum/gray patina. There is some mild spotting and flaking on the nickel. The stock is fine with a few hairline cracks at the barrel, lock plate and butt, along with varnish loss and minor scratches. The sight is good with the cross hair damaged and an aged patina on the tube. The action is excellent.
