Manufactured between 1860 and 1868 with standard one line Springfield address marked on the top of the barrel rib. The patent dates April 3, 1855, July 3, 1855 and December 19, 1861 are marked on the cylinder. Both sides of the barrel are marked "2D QUAL'TY", indicating that there were slight casting flaws when manufactured, and approximately 4,402 of these types of revolvers featured this marking. The barrel and cylinder were blue and the brass frame silver plated. Fitted with smooth two-piece rosewood grips.

Fine with the barrel exhibiting a gray mottled patina and a dark mottled patina on the cylinder. The frame retains approximately 95% of the original silver plating with some minor spotting. The grips are very fine with some minor varnish flaking and some minor nicks and scratches. The cylinder markings are very faint. The rib marking is clear and crisp. The "2D QUAL'TY" markings are strong with some fading.
