A rare original Navajo Chief's blanket from approx. 150 years ago! This wonderful blanket is a second phase Chief's blanket. It features the traditional striped designs which are accented with rectangular blocks. The colors are a white background with dark brown stripes with indigo blue and red accents. The red has faded a bit with age, while the other colors remain strong. MAKER: An unknown Navajo weaver. APPROX. AGE: Circa 1850 to 1870. SIZE: Measures approx. 50 inches wide X 57 inches long. CONDITION: Pretty good for its age, some wear and fading expected.
