Rare wood cut on paper engraving,  from an August 27, 1859 edition of Harper's Weekly newspaper, Winslow Homer, August In The Country - The Sea-Shore. Multi-generational depiction of a mid-nineteenth century day at the beach. Approx 10" X 15". Comes with original gallery display packaging. Suitable for framing. some chipping, cracking along the edges due to age. Winslow Homer, born in 1836 in Massachusetts, was a consummate American artist of his day. His contemporary scenes were from all strata of life. He worked until his death in 1910.  Â
