Rare 1939 Dated Mauser Banner Military Contract Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol with Matching Magazine and 1940 Dated Holster

This is an excellent example of a very unique Military Contract Mauser Banner P.08 Luger that was manufactured under an early German Army contract in the "X" block serial number range. The chamber is dated 1939 with the standard Mauser Banner logo on the front toggle, and the right side of the barrel extension is stamped with the German Army "Eagle/655" Waffenamt proof and the left side has the Nazi "Eagle/N" commercial proof. The pistol is numbered in the military fashion with the full serial number of "602x" stamped on the front of the frame, "602" stamped on the underside of the barrel and the left side of the barrel extension with the last two digits "02" stamped on the various small parts. This early Luger is fitted with two, Type II, blue unmarked sheet metal magazines with aluminum bases. The bases are marked "1/602/x/Eagle 655" and "2/602/x/+/Eagle 655". Complete with a brown 1940 dated Luger holster that is marked "DLU/1940/Eagle WaA727" on the back.

Excellent. The pistol retains 98% of the original blue finish with some edge and high spot wear, and thinning on the grip straps. The grips are also excellent showing some very minor handling marks and sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The holster is very fine with tight stitching, sharp markings and proofs. The front of the holster and flap show some minor darkening and handling marks. As noted this Luger rig has all matching numbers to include both magazines.
