Extremely Rare! Civil War 1864 marked "C. Roby" Sword that has been cut down to a bowie style knife. Total length is a massive 17 inches. Blade is 11 inches. Makers mark "C. Roby and Chelms Mass " "US, 64" andinspectors marks initials "AGM." No recent sharpening. Nice mainly dark patina with some silver showing through. No rust. Leather and wire on handle are in excellent condition. The bowie knife for both theNorth & the South were a favorite weapon for close fighting.
