Steamer Cover, 1862, Queen Victoria, 4 Annas, cancelled with a diamond seal with “1” and a round delivery seal as “BOMBAY | JUN 12 | 62 | INDIA PAID”, dispatched from Bombay via steamer to “ADEN” addressed to “Cowasji Dinshaw, Esq | Steam Point | Aden”, hand endorsed “Stamped” & unreadable hand written text on left bottom, “4” in red, and a delivery seal as “ADEN STEAM POINT | 23 JU | 62”, good condition, Rare.



Note: While the Aden Steamer Point was a crucial refueling and coaling station for steamships during the late 19th century, it was also known as Aden Port or Aden Dockyard. It was the strategic location along the maritime trade routes that contributed to the importance of the Aden Steamer Point in 1865.
