<B>Rare 1848 Illuminated <I>Livre d'Heures</B></I></B></I> <I>ou offices de l'Eglise illustrs d'aprs les manuscrits de la Bibliothque du Roi par Mlle A. Guilbert et publis sous la direction de M. l'abb Des Billiers, chanoine honoraire de Langres.</B></I> or, roughly translated, "Book of Hours, or Offices of the Church, illustrated according to the manuscripts of the Library of the King by Miss A. Guilbert, and published under the direction of the Abbot Of the Billiers, honorary Canon of Langres." (Paris: Eugene Duverger, 1848), [16] 92 pages, all hand-illuminated color plates, purple velvet with ornate gold metal corner and spine decorations, 8vo (5.5" x 8.5"), silk moir endpapers. This <I>Book of Hours</B></I> takes its inspiration mainly from 14th and 15th century manuscripts; the ornate Gothic text and beautifully applied illuminations are of breathtaking quality. A very rare and desirable edition in very good condition; clasps present and functional, applied cover decoration missing, light cover wear, and minor staining to the endpapers. <I>From the Henry E.
