(Rollin, Charles-Louis). CATALOGUE D’UNE COLLECTION DE 729 MÉDAILLES CONSULAIRES ET DE 3616 MÉDAILLES IMPÉRIALES, EN ARGENT, SUIVI D’UNE NOTICE DU PRIX DE CHAQUE MÉDAILLE IMPÉRIALE. Paris: Chez P. Mongie, 1811. 8vo, original plain wraps. (4), iv, 108 pages. Wraps worn, contents near fine. Very scarce. Charles-Louis Rollin (1777-1853) started in business as a coin dealer in 1808. John Spring, in his Ancient Coin Auction Catalogues, outlines the history of the firm. Charles-Louis’s son, Claude-Camille Rollin (1813-83) joined his father in the business, with his son Charles Rollin (1843-1906) following. Félix Feuardent (1819-1907) joined both the firm and family, marrying the daughter of Claude-Camille Rollin and becoming a partner of the company in 1859. Charles Rollin ran the business with his brother-in-law Félix Feuardent as Rollin & Feuardent until his death. After Félix died the year following, his three sons took over the business, eventually restyling it as Feuardent Frères. The firm held its final sale in 1937. Ex Hadrien Rambach, gift to RBW Library.
