Presented here is a magnificent Silver Mounted cased set of flintlock dueling pistols from the London makers: Fields & Parker, Circa: 1800 – 1820.
Their shop was located in Holborn, London. These beautiful flintlocks are somewhat transitional having both early and later features during the flintlock era. Early features (1750-1790) such as the graceful “banana style” lock plate, early “Brown Bess” hammer configuration, along with the silver mounted grotesque masked butt plate. Later features (1800-1830) are the gold touch hole and the roller frizzen spring. The label inside the lid is that of Issac Riviere, arms dealer and also a London maker from the same general location and era. (1806-1830). This set of duelers are in original condition and represent a fine investment for the serious investor.
