Raoul Dufy Autograph Letter Signed: Raoul Dufy, one page, 5.25" x 7.25", Paris, May 9, 1919 (written in French). French Fauvist painter, Raoul Dufy wrote this letter to a Mr. Descaves in the summer of 1919. Fauvist painters were a branch of Impressionism, who were concerned with making their work very bold and bright but still exaggerated and fresh. The exaggerated bold colors coupled with deliberately defined features make this a unique but short-lived style. Dufy was a member of this school and is mainly known for his murals. The letter is a response to the sender about an exhibit at the Galerie Cres. It is in very fine condition; no edge wear; perfect for display.
