Rampur State, Nishan-i-Iqbal, Gold, Diamond and Enamel Order, First Class Sash Badge, (Decoration of Good Fortune), founded by Nawab Hamid Ali Khan Bahadur, c. 1927; obv. embellished with diamonds and gold with an enamelled portrait of Nawab Sayyed Muhammad Hamid Khan surmounted by a crown with Rampur at top. (Unlisted but similar to T Mc 233- the neck badge). Extremely Fine, Extremely Rare with diamonds weighing over 1.6 carats. Awarded in three classes: 1st class - breast star and sash badge, 2nd class - breast star and neck badge, and 3rd class - neck badge. It is mentioned that the Nawab himself used to wear this order. In 1939 Lord Linlithgow was informed that “His Highness of Rampur was wearing the miniature last night of an Order which came immediately after his KCSI and before his coronation etc medals.” Ex. Todywalla Auctions 67 Lot No. 73 sold for Rs. 5,00,000 in December 2012.
