According to the included letter from Ralph P. Bone, engraver, this revolver was received as a trophy for the 1997 Smith & Wesson Masterpiece Award, and won the same award in 1999. Standard features, with gold inlaid markings, gold and blackened iron wire border work, a raised gold eagle on a star field on the side plate, and "R.P.Bone '98" under the right grip panel. With the 1999 Award plaque. (NOTE: The letter cites a serial number of "5192", which we believe to be a typographical error.)
