(McQuarrie, 1975-1982) Ralph McQuarrie’s personal artist’s supply kit from production of the original Star Wars trilogy. As the first concept artist to interpret George Lucas’s visions of the Star Wars universe, McQuarrie’s paintings had a huge impact on the look of the final film. Tatooine, the Death Star, and characters including Chewbacca, C-3PO, and most famously, Darth Vader, were first brought to life using this kit. The box has an ILM Art Department button on the handle and contains 23 tubes of oil paint, four bottles of medium, two oil painting sketch blocks, and a palette pad. Measuring 12” x 17.75” x 3.5”, the lacquered wood box with brass corner protectors, metal clasps, and a leather handle, is in very good condition with light scuffs and scratches from use. The art supplies range from 2.25” x 0.5” to 9” x 12” and are in good condition with typical wear from use.
