Fetish was carved in the 80s by Prudencia Quam at Zuni. There are two inserts. The larger (shown) was made by Fred and Lolita Natachu. They made for me a number of these inlayed disks for fetish inserts. The pieces included Sunface, Knifewing, Rainbow, and Thunderbird, all traditional Zuni symbols and I provided them to fetish carvers for inserts. The reverse side has a smaller Sunface insert made by Fred and Rosalie Bowannie. They were among the first Zuni inlayers. Dad began trading with them in the 40s and I continued through the 80s. The fetish is 4” x 5”. I was the only person in the trading business that produced and obtained these type fetishes until the mid-90s.
