This is an original work of art hand carved wood Rainbow Trout sculpture by Wesley A. Tuttle a Deer Lodge State Prison Montana Inmate. The piece shows exquisite craftsmanship and skill with excellent hand carved and hand painted accents. Tuttle was the head carver at Deer Lodge at the time. The piece is signed on the back WAT (his initials) and dated 1992. Wesley was convicted of murder and was moved to Utah Federal Penitentiary once he was found guilty of yet another murder via DNA. The piece was purchased from his wife. This includes a transcript that is titled, "Hand Crafted At Montana State Prison" and shows his name and the cost of $250. Very good overall condition visually. Measures 29"L x 15.5"H x 7.5" off the wall.
