Published in London by BT Batsford Ltd, 94, High Holborn in 1930. The edition for the British Empire and the United States of America is limited to 125 copies. All rights of this work are the property of Anton Schroll & Co who are publishers of the German Edition. Printed in Austria. Plate #15 "Studies of Movement For the Same Madonna": The two motives in the left lower and upper right corners come nearest to the picture. The figure of the infant St. John differs in many respects from that finally adopted. The half length sketch of the Mother and Child reminds one of the Panshanger Madonna, formerly in the collection of Lord Cowper. A leaf of a sketch book that has been broken up. The original was done on the back of the leaf, pen drawing in bistre.
