Bengali poet, playwright, philosopher, and author (1861–1941) who became the first non-European to win a Nobel Prize (Literature) in 1913. A printed booklet of Tagore’s short story The Trial of the Horse, 4.75 x 7, seven pages, signed and inscribed on the front cover, “To H. W. Massingham Esq., from Rabindranath Tagore.” In fine condition, with a central vertical fold and some mild handling wear.
