RUNYON, DAMON
(1884 - 1946) American journalist and writer, known especially for his Guys and Dolls and The Lemon Drop Kid. Rare signed book "Guys and Dolls", first edition, Frederick A. Stokes Co., New York, 1931, bearing a very lengthy inscription on the front flyleaf: "Dear Frank - This is my first book. I send this copy to you with the hope that you will at least find it useful in spacing out your library. And with it comes to you my thanks for many courtesies at your hand in the past - In all friendship, I am, Sincerely Damon Runyon Hibiscus Island 1938". The book itself has some condition problems: edges and top of spine are worn with some loss and in some places reinforced with scotch tape, orners bumped and worn, gutters cracked, yet the contents and the signed page are very good. A rare signed book, certainly worthy of restoration!
