(RUNAWAY SLAVE BROADSIDE)
"A fine broadside, measuring approximately 9"" x 12"", Liberty, [Mo.], Mar. 7, 1860, in which John S. Majors offers ""$100 REWARD!"" for the capture of a slave named ""Noel"". The broadside features a stock image of a black man in profile running with his belongings on a stick, and reads in part: ""RANAWAY from the subscriber on the night of the 5th. of Marchàaged about 28 years, about 5 feet 8 inches high weighs about 178 pounds, black color, large foot scar one foot and on one hand and of pleasing appearance when spoken to. I will give for the apprehension of said boy, and his delivery to me in Clay County, 10 miles north of Liberty, or his confinement in some jail so that I get him, $25 if taken in Clay county -- $50 if taken out of Clay county and in the State, and $100 if taken out of the State.."". Penciled corrections, presumably by the printer, marked with a ""IV"" in the top right corner. A few light tears presumably repaired on verso, otherwise quite clean. Nicely matted and framed. Unexamined out of frame." 2218 A fine broadside, measuring approximately 9"" x 12"", Liberty, [Mo.], Mar. 7, 1860, in which John S.
