This is a wonderful ca 1920s-30s blended mottled brown and green glaze jardiniere. The bottom is signed 1400-7" Robinson Ransbottom,Roseville, Ohio. The Ransbottom brothers started a pottery in 1900 in Ironspot, Ohio. In 1920, they merged with the Robinson Clay Product Company of Akron, Ohio, to become Robinson-Ransbottom. They were one of American's great old pottery companies that made stoneware, spongeware, art pottery, vases, planters, birdbath inserts, dinnerware, cookie jars, etc. All RRP is collectible, especially now that they have closed. Their pottery is heavy, well-made, attractive, durable, affordable, and quite functional. This was featured over 2 years ago in Antique Trader, August 24, 2005, page 22, Article value range $45-$90. It measures 7" wide and 5-1/2" tall. It is in near mint condition with only slight crazing.
