Highlights of the animation section include a preliminary concept painting of Pinocchio's village by Gustaf Tenggren, vivid original concept art by Eyvind Earle and Mary Blair, and a multitude of production cels and drawings. Other top lots include an autograph letter by Charles Darwin on the voyage of the Challenger, a superior Pablo Picasso portrait, and letters by Winston Churchill and Chiang Kai-shek with terrific WWII-related content. JFK lots include several poignant pieces from his assassination—a Dallas police helmet and badge worn by an officer in the motorcade, a signed press release from LBJ announcing his death, and accouterments worn by a naval pallbearer as part of the Joint Casket Bearer Team at JFK's state funeral.
