RR Auction’s October Fine Autographs and Artifacts sale boasts a diverse 1,000+ items from all fields of collecting, with a special focus on Civil War and Literature. In addition to an incredible assortment of autograph letters from luminaries like Charles Darwin, Mohandas Gandhi, Charles Dickens, Claude Monet, and J. R. R. Tolkien, a few highlights are a sketch by Pablo Picasso, hand-drawn survey map by George Washington, signed photograph of Leo Tolstoy, and beautiful portrait of Marilyn Monroe. Top artifacts are an officer’s sword presented to Brig.-Gen. Calvin Pratt, a scarce multi-level amputation kit, bullets fired in ballistic tests used as evidence against Bonnie and Clyde, and an incredible hand-engraved Colt revolver honoring Hollywood’s ‘Monster Legacy,’ just in time for Halloween.
