Rosenthal Art Deco figurine of an Egyptian belly dancer charmer. Made in the US ZONE, Germany during the short period of American occupation after WWII, 1945 - 1949.<BR>Measures 8inches high.<BR>Dancer stands on an oval base painted in puce and green. Her long slender body is naked except for the blue skirt, sitting low on her belly and held above each leg by a raised gold disk. Her long yellow headscarf covers part of her breasts, which are also partially hidden by her upraised arms, hands outstretched - incredibly delicate and fine. Bare foot, she stands on tip toes. Everything about her is long, elegant, slender and graceful. <BR>Marked underneath with green Rosenthal stamped mark US ZONE. Also some impressed numbers. <BR>This figurine was modelled by famous porcelain artist Gustav Oppel.<BR>Very good condition. No chips/cracks/restoration.
