Gouache on paper, laid on board. Featuring an abstract composition. Signed and attr. Robert Delanuay (French, 1885-1941) on the lower right corner. Gallery label with notation inscribed on verso. 49 x 69 cm (19.3 x 27.2 inches). Robert Delaunay was a French artist best known for his vibratory paintings of modern life. Interested in conveying a sense of dynamism in his work, Delaunay often chose icons of progress, such as the Eiffel Tower, for his motifs. Today, his works are held in the collections of the Musée d’Orsay in Paris, the Tate Gallery in London, The Museum of Modern Art in New York, and the Kunstmuseum Basel, among others.
