<B>ROBERT WOOD (1889-1979)</B></I><BR><I>Texas Country</B></I><BR>Oil on canvasboard<BR>8in. x 10in.<BR>Signed lower right<BR>Signed and titled verso<BR><BR>From earlier paintings in this auction we can show that even after Robert Wood relocated to California he would periodically return to Texas. He had two daughters in San Antonio and had grown to love Texas and its scenery. This later Robert Wood painting is a fabulous impressionist rendition of bluebonnets, Indian paintbrushes, and prickly pear cactus, alongside a winding caliche road.<BR><BR>Provenance:<BR>Purchased from a California Gallery in 1978 by the present owner<BR><BR> <B>Condition Report:</B> Excellent condition.
