Livingston was one of the committee of five who drew up the Declaration of Independence. He also administered the Oath of Office to George Washington April 30th, 1789. Framed portion of a letter with accompanying engraving of him. The letter was dated and signed while Chancellor of the State. The letter is in regards to verifying the qualifications of a Daniel Koch? to be a physician and surgeon dated June 28th, 1799. Housed in a thin beaded frame with brown matte having two cutouts. PROVENANCE: Estate of Dr. and Mrs. Stanwood Schmidt of Eureka, CA. SIZE: 5-1/2” x 7-3/4”. CONDITION: Very good. Pencil writing on left side of signature has been added but does not deter from value. 9-95993
