<B>ROBERT PREUSSER (1919-1992)<BR></B></I><I>Asian Mist</B></I>, 1957<BR>Oil and mixed media on canvas<BR>72 x 30 inches (182.9 x 76.2 cm)<BR>Unsigned, accompanied by a letter of authentication from the Estate of Robert Preusser<BR><BR> This abstract painting takes its inspiration from traditional Japanese watercolor and wood-block prints. At the same time, it stands alone as a finely tuned abstraction implemented in black, grey, and gold. Lines and shapes in the painting have a calligraphic quality and are implemented with highly impastoed paint mixed with grit. The large scale of the work gives it the physical presence of a Japanese screen.<BR><BR>Provenance:<BR>Estate of Robert Preusser<BR><BR><B>Condition Report:</B> Excellent condition.
