To achieve these results, Blum regularly worked on grained paper which broke up the brushwork and gave it an extremely fluid appearance .Both in subject and style Woman in Shawl Holding a Fanreflects the strong influence of the Spaniard Mariano Fortuny. In certain passages, however, Blum went beyond his mentor in his daringly expressive application of the watercolor medium, seen here in his treatment of the woman's shadow. Condition Report: Normal signs of wear as appropriate with age, minor toning and surface dirt, archivally mounted in the top corner.

Shipping: Requires 3rd Party Shipping (view shipping information)
