(1913 - 1994) Thirty-seventh President of the United States who led during the Vietnam War, re-opened diplomatic ties with China and the U.S.S.R., resigned his office due to the Watergate scandal. Very rare A.L.S. on his personal letterhead, 1p. 4to. Woodcliff Lake, N.J., Sept. 23, 1993. Just one year before his death, Nixon writes to "Frank", in part: "...Your letter brought back many pleasant memories...Your father was one of the most impressive men I have met in my 47 years in & out of the political arena, intelligent, decisive, strong and warm hearted...Your kindness to Trina and Julie made our trips to Florida on many occasions. I gave up golf 14 years ago but remember your patience with my beginner's game. Clinton has an incredibly tough challenge. Let's hope he can meet it again...". Signed with his circled initials "RN", and accompanied by an 8" x 10" photo of Frank with his Pat Nixon. Fine condition.
