Cal. 65. NSN. 45 1/2" Overall. Bbl. 30 1/4" swamped oct. w/ fixed iron rear sight & dovetailed brass front sight. Wood sliding patch box. Crosby Milliman commented in 1967 at ASAC meeting in his opinion this rifle was indeed American made prior to the French & Indian Wars, the lock & sideplate had European origins. His identified 1740 Lancaster rifle which is pictured in an article he wrote compares favorably (article linked in provenance via online catalog). CONDITION: very good to fine overall, appears complete & matching, iron has mottled iron patina, brass has mixed light to medium mustard patinas, stock is sound w/ hand worn patina.
