MUSKET. Cal. 75. NSN. Bbl. 42" w/ long brass front sight. 56 1/2" Overall w/ bayonet stud on bottom. Early continental banana shaped lock w/ pointed tail w/ indiscernible maker marks. Mix of brass furniture of unknown origins. 4 Ramrod pipes. Arrowhead shaped buttplate tang was made from repurposed previously used brass w/ cut through marking. Stock has carved beaver tail rear of tang. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: bayonet has crudely grazed socket w/ crude cut outs. CONDITION: good to very good overall. Bbl. has dark, mostly smooth iron patina w/ pitting at breech. Lock is overall gray/dark patina. Brass has light mustard patina. Stock is well fit w/ glued crack repair just forward of lock. There are other cracks along bbl. channel in forestock w/ several long missing slivers. Bbl. is very thin at muzzle w/ loss & chips in metal. Brown Bess button style ramrod engraved “5/16” & metal better than rest of gun. Accompanying bayonet fits poorly & is overall good condition w/ gray color.
