REVERSE PAINTED MIRROR.
Possibly made by Benjamin Morrill, Boscawen, Merrimack County, New Hampshire, ca.1820-1830, wood and glass. Black and gold painted split spindle mirror with eglomise plate. Rectangular frame with applied split spindles with ring turnings joined by corner blocks. Upper plate eglomise with wide swags centering a barefoot girl holding a cat. Found in a New Hampshire home. 22 1/4"h. 11 3/4"w. Ex Bob Jessen and Jim Hohnwald (New Hampshire).
