Cal. Springfield 30 Cal. 1906 (.30-06 Springfield). S# 17695. Bbl. 22". Model 30 Express bolt action rifle mfg. by Remington between 1926-1940. Top of the bbl. is marked with Remington's mfg. information, with "SPRINGFIELD/ 30 CAL. 1906" marked on the left at the breech. Left side of the receiver ring is marked "MODEL 30/ Express" above the S#, with the Remington trademark logo marked on the right. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. 1-piece checkered wood schnabel tip buttstock with KICK-EEZ black rubber recoil pad. Receiver is factory drilled and tapped, mounted with a Redfield scope base and Lyman Alaskan 2.5x fixed power scope. CONDITION: metal components retain fair to good amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning that are fading to gray patina, scattered superficial handling marks, as well as scattered spots of light to mild surface oxidation and pitting overall. Very bright bore, exhibiting some light pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Stock shows numerous scattered marks, scratches, and impressions, with a chip and a 2 1/4" crack on the left side stemming from the forearm tip, and a repair on the right side, just forward of the bolt cutout. Black rubber recoil pad exhibits a loss at the toe. Scope tube retains traces of original finish, with the balance exhibiting a gray patina and scattered scratches overall. Forward portion of scope tube exhibits a large dent. Optic is slightly hazy. (25-4499/MLW). CURIO. $250-350.
