RIFLE. Cal. 35 Rem. S# 56519. Bbl. 24". Model 141 The Gamemaster slide action rifle mfg. by Remington in 1947. Left side of the bbl. is marked with Remington's 2-line mfg. and patent information, followed by ".35 REM", with an "SS" (1947) date code marked towards the breech. Left side of the receiver is marked "THE/ GAMEMASTER" above "MODEL 141", followed by the Remington trademark logo and S#. Additionally, the left side of the receiver is factory fitted with a brass disc marked "REM-UMC/ 35 REM". Grooved wood forearm and plain wood pistol grip buttstock with Remington checkered aluminum buttplate. Buttstock has been sanded and refinished at one time, featuring an added sling swivel on the toe line, with an added sling swivel on the front of the mag. tube. Ramped aluminum beaded blade front sight with white diamond U-notch rear sight. Top of receiver and drilled and tapped with 4 plug screws. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning that are fading to gray patina, scattered superficial marks and scratches, as well as some scattered spots and patches of light to mild surface oxidation overall. Right side of receiver exhibits a few patches of apparent varnish. Action slide exhibits a gray patina at and around the ejection port area from cycling of the action. Mirror bore, retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Wood furniture shows scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sound. Buttstock exhibits bubbling and flaking to its varnish finish, with a chip present on the left side of the wrist next to the safety button. (26-84/MLW). CURIO. $400-600.
