<b>260. REINHARD HEYDRICH</b>
<hr align=left size=5 width=33% color=#778899>(1904-1942). German Nazi leader and Himmler’s chief lieutenant. He ran the espionage and surveillance arm of the SS and helped organize the Holocaust. After being named acting governor of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, Heydrich was assassinated by the Czech resistance. TLS “<i>Heydrich</i>” in German, 1p, large 4to, Berlin, May 14, 1942. Untranslated. On “Chef der Sicherheitspolizei und des SD” letterhead to <b><font size=-1>Heinrich Himmler</font></b>, who writes his initials “<i>H H</i>” in green pencil at right margin above text. Heydrich transmits copies of two letters [not present] that had been submitted to him by SS Brigade Chief Dr. Best requesting information. He had spoken to Dr. Best in Paris providing only official and essential information, and put off to another time a discussion that had touched on Himmler’s pending decision. Boldly signed. File holes and staple stain at left edge; scattered marginal stains away from signature; light wear; else good/very good condition. Signed a mere two weeks before Heydrich was mortally wounded by Czech partisans and four months after the infamous Wannsee Conference chaired by Heydrich in which Nazi officials discussed the “final solution” to the “Jewish question.” <b>Werner Best</b> was a trusted deputy to Himmler and Heydrich and in May of 1942 was in Paris supervising the suppression of the French Resistance and the deportation of French Jews. 11. All bidding is done in a competitive manner. The
winning bid will always be one bidding increment
over the second highest bid. The minimum
acceptable bid for any lot is 50% of the low
estimate given in the item description or $25,

12. Payment is expected immediately upon receipt of
invoice. All accounts are payable to Signature
House. Payment must be made in U.S. funds. Wire
transfer details are available upon request.
West Virginia residents will pay a sales tax of
6% unless a resale number is filed with us prior
to the closing date. For sales outside of the USA
a credit card is requested.

13. Shipment is made via U.S. Postal Service or
Airborne unless otherwise instructed. Handling,
shipping and insurance charges are added to the
invoice. Oversize and foreign shipments are subject

14. Golden Guarantee: All material is returnable within
seven days providing that it comes back in the same
condition. There is a lifetime guarantee on
authenticity to the original purchaser. The item(s)
must be returned with two letters denying it’s
