REGINALD L SWEET (1885-1950) American composer. Collection of 3 pieces, original autograph scores for his one-act opera, 'Riders to the Sea', Based on John M Synge's 1905 play. The prelude to this opera was played by the New York Philharmonic Orchrestra in 1916. No indication can be found that this opera ever saw full production. Sweet graduated from Harvard in 1908, studied music in Berlin, & when he returned to the U.S. he composed this opera. Includes: Autograph Manuscript Opera Score, folio, 10"X13", leather bound, 160pp, with stage plan tipped-in inside cover; Autograph Piano Score, folio, 10"X13", bound, 86pp; & his working copy of Synge's play, book, 5"X8", signed,"Reginald L Sweet, 19 East...N.Y.
