'FAT 42' WWII era Italian military clip-fed bolt action service rifle chambered in 6.5x52mm Carcano, manufactured by Fabrica d' Armi di Terni circa 1942. Features a blued finish, 27.25" barrel, dovetailed blade front sight, elevation adjustable rear sight from 200-1,000 meters, smooth trigger, turned-down bolt handle, manual safety on the bolt, two barrel bands with bayonet lug on the front band, sling swivels, smooth wood handguard and straight grip shoulder stock with sling bar & smooth metal buttplate. Serial numbers match on the receiver and stock and the stock also displays a 1942 dated F.A.T. circular cartouche, a bit faint at center, deeper at edges. Numbers on butt are deep, sharp edged. Rifle retains approximately 96% of it's blued finish with some edge/handling wear, Wood is very good, with slight shrinkage at toe. Approx 2" hairline crack straight back at upper tang. Rear sling swivel bosses slightly proud of wood. Rear band a bit loose. Possibly lightly sanded & refinished, color is a bit dark compared to other M41's. Action is smooth. Bore is dark with strong rifling. Comes with correct leather sling, and correct 12" Carcano bayonet, maker marked, and dated 1941, with green leather frog. Includes handbook. NRA Condition-Very Good.
