<hr align=left size=5 width=33% color=#778899><h3 align=center>admiral’s staff flag</h3>(1886-1969). Commander of Task Force 16, who with carriers <i>Enterprise</i> and <i>Hornet</i> helped lead US forces to victory at Midway. Promoted to Admiral, he was appointed commander in chief of the US Pacific Fleet and later became Ambassador to the Philippines. Offered is his nylon four-star staff flag donated by the Admiral to the Army & Navy Relief Fund Auction. The 62"x39¼" flag is constructed with four white stars outlined with yellow stitching on a blue field. A halyard with brass ring and attaching device at either end threads the hoist stamped “Admiral” near bottom with San Francisco flag manufacturer’s name and logo near center. Accompanied by a donor card, 3"x5", boldly signed “<i>R. A. Spruance</i>” beneath typed description and identified as “Control Number 311.” Card evidences minor toning and a vertical center crease transversing “u” in the signature; light stain in small area of blue field of flag.

11. All bidding is done in a competitive manner. The
winning bid will always be one bidding increment
over the second highest bid. The minimum
acceptable bid for any lot is 50% of the low
estimate given in the item description or $25,
whichever is higher.

12. Payment is expected immediately upon receipt of
invoice. All accounts are payable to Signature
House. Payment must be made in U.S. funds. Wire
transfer details are available upon request.
West Virginia residents will pay a sales tax of
6% unless a resale number is filed with us prior
to the closing date. For sales outside of the USA
a credit card is requested.

13. Shipment is made via U.S. Postal Service or
Airborne unless otherwise instructed. Handling,
shipping and insurance charges are added to the
invoice. Oversize and foreign shipments are subject
to increased charges. All items are shipped
immediately upon receipt of payment.

14. Golden Guarantee: All material is returnable within
seven days providing that it comes back in the same
condition. There is a lifetime guarantee on
authenticity to the original purchaser. The item(s)
must be returned with two letters denying it’s
authenticity by expert authenticators acceptable
