An extremely rare WWII German areotopograph. This is a photogrammetric instrument used for surveying and mapping from aerial photography. The purpose of the device was to create detailed topographic maps from aerial reconnaissance photographs. The case measures 16 1/2' x 10" x 3 1/2" and has a gray painted finish. The interior contains many parts and pieces painted a sage green. The areotopograph seams to be complete and likely still functions. The interior lid id boldly marked "CARL ZEISS JENA (party eagle) MA.B.782". CONDITION: The case shows moderate wear but is undamaged. The interior shows very light wear, and the parts show very light wear. (02-24500-1/BF).$800-1400.
