RARE SILVERWARE FROM THE SEMINARY OF NICOLET, INCLUDING MANY FRENCH REGIME ITEMS

Auction Details

Silverware from the French Regime in Quebec (pre-1760), is rarely available and seldom seen in public auctions.
The population of French settlers was small, and mostly poor.
There were few silversmiths, producing pieces for a small bourgeois clientele.
The Seminary of Nicolet, over many years, had built a large collection of these rare pieces.
Champagne Auctions is honoured to have been chosen to offer this collection, in a public auction without reserve.
All items sold without reserve.
