SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 7.65mm. S# 177577p. Bbl. 3 7/8". Model PP semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Walther in 1940. The left side of the slide is marked with the Walther banner logo, followed by markings stipulating Walther's mfg. information, as well as the model and cal. designations. Right side of frame (on chamber), slide, and bbl. exhibit a German Eagle/N commercial nitro proof. Right side of the frame is engraved "P.M.1940" below the S#, believed to indicate issue to the Polizieschule Muenster (Muenster Police Acadamy). Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the chamber area of the frame, which is polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece Walther banner checkered black synthetic grips. Slide features a matte grooved rib, with an integral blade front sight and dovetailed U-notch rear sight. Interior of slide is unnumbered. MAGS: 1 8-rd. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting light to mild edge wear, a few scattered spots of light wear, as well as some superficial handling marks overall. Grip straps exhibit light to mild wear and thinning that is fading to gray patina, with light to mild surface oxidation overall. Bright bore, exhibiting some light pitting and grease, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics, including the safety lever / decocker. Grips show light smoothing and scattered marks from handling and storage, but otherwise present nicely. (25-4254/MLW). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
