RARE OHIO TWO-PIECE CUPBOARD BY CHRISTIAN SHIVELEY JR. (1770-1836, Montgomery County). Walnut with a mellow refinishing and oak secondary wood. Dovetailed bracket feet and a molded base with two raised panel doors in the base. Brass "H" hinges. Three dovetailed drawers with beaded edges and brass pulls across the center. Drawer and door brasses are replaced. The high pie shelf is flanked by well-scalloped brackets and the top section is fitted to the base with sliding wooden pins. Two-door top has six panes each and a stationary center section with three panes. Elaborate stepped and molded cornice. Pieced restorations to the base molding and cornice.
