The incredible Magic Lantern -Allows you to view slides on the wall! and wooden box of glass slides each measuring 2" x 6 1/2", includes Little Red Riding Hood, John Gilfin, Robinson Crusoe, Puss n' Boots,in split frames and full frames of various farmyard and hunting scenes in color; and black and white slides of nursery comics, negro comics, Mrs. Jarley's WaxWorks. From the late 1800's. Appears not to have been used, as the wick is new and interior of lantern is clean. 21 Glass Slides in excellent condition. This is a very early magic lantern, black canister lantern with opaque projector attachment on lens with two wire holder on back. Conic chimney. Kerosene fueled the wick, casting light through the lens and slide onto surface. Projetors were a premium for selling subscriptions for "The Youth's Companion" magazine. Lamp knob reads Dec. 10...the rest is rubbed out.
