<td width="100%">
A FINE & RARE Large Eighteenth Century Chinese Famille Porcelain Vase, hand-painted with traditional Chinese taste decoration depicting a gentleman dog standing below the pine tree on one side and a dog scratching its ears with its feet, measuring 11.75" in height by 6" wide. The body of the dog is gilded with gold thread. The other two sides are two pieces of poem in free hand Chinese Calligraphy style. The vase is marked with the six-character reign mark of the Qianlong Emperor in the base.

This is a truly wonderful example richly painted with vibrant colors. The piece is constructed from slabs of clay; and the thick base left unglazed save for a small recessed square containing the Qianlong mark. The broad and somewhat grand painting is marvelously fluent, and is typical of early Qianlong wares.

A rare-to-find example and a most worthy addition to any collection!

Condition: Hole to base. Otherwise in excellent condition with no cracks, chips or restoration whatsoever. The paintwork is not flaked and is not worn or rubbed.
